How trailer transport works.
A practical guide to quoting, preparing and receiving your trailer.
1. Request a detailed quote
Start with exact locations, trailer category, dimensions, estimated weight, hitch type, brakes, condition and current photos. Mention whether it is loaded and identify anything attached to the roof or sides.
2. Choose the suitable transport method
Tow-away service uses the trailer's own wheels and running gear. Load-out service places the unit on suitable carrier equipment. Roadworthiness, dimensions, weight, registration, route and access determine which method may be available.
3. Prepare for trailer pickup
- Remove or firmly secure loose personal property and cargo.
- Check tires, bearings, lights, brakes, breakaway system, coupler and safety chains for tow-away moves.
- Close and latch doors, windows, slides, awnings and roof vents.
- Disconnect utilities and remove skirting, stairs or site attachments.
- Provide legal keys, paperwork and clear access for the transport equipment.
4. Coordinate delivery
Someone should be available by phone and ready to meet the driver at an accessible delivery point. Inspect the trailer at arrival and compare its condition with pickup records.
